I went through the same feelings... i was a C average student in School.. managed to pull my grades up in my final year and get into University... then i felt like i couldn't handle the work.. i was often in tears due to the stress! but i made it! you just have the build the faith in your own abilities.. and realize that everyone is in the same boat, they all find it difficult! It's all a challenge but the more you work at it, the easier it will get!
Just tackle it one bit at a time, at your own pace.. i managed to finish Uni on a Distinction average, just by finding some drive and determination to prove to myself i could do it, just by working through it bit by bit.
Keep your chin up.

I like the way that you ended your sentence with “I think.” Thinking that something is too difficult blocks your performance before you begin. Alternatively, people who are high in self-efficacy “I can” perform better.

1) Try telling yourself that you can do it – you may not believe it at first however.

2) Your first port of call should be text books, try a few different text book to find one that is ok for you. Text book often simplify concepts and put them in context of the current debate.

3) Speak to your lecture, if you make an appointment they are usually happy to help.

Every one has doubts but ignoring it means that you always have that cloud over your head.

Go to the library and look up their computer to se any books on the subject you are working on take as many notes from these as you can also look up the internet and again take down all the notes you can and reference everything you use. Feeling like you're unable to do the work is normal, you are leaning after all so all you can do is go and look up what you need to find out and then you can work from there. There are many sites on the net which allow you to read essays and work on millions of topics just type in "free essays" and what ever the subject is, you can get an idea of how to structure your own work from these. Dont loose heart you will get there in the end. you just gotta apply yourself.
Good luck.

Uni work is designed to stretch the brain, and make you learn. It will be hard, it took me several years to realise that I was actually producing decent work and understanding the topics - and that only happened 'cause one of my professors nagged me about it!

Do your best, feel that you've pushed yourself to the metal limit, then take another look at yourself.

In this context, the brain is like a muscle - I did things in my final year at uni that I couldn't have done just after my A-levels, and barely understand now - it's all a matter of practice and building up of bility and knowledge...

Take it easy and have fun too!

of course its hard..

I'm an international student in a university. the locals have the advantage of English as their first language over me but that doesnt bother me at all....sometimes i do get higher marks than them. when tried your best, i'm sure you'll be able to go through.

universities arent made easy. if you're admitted to one, then you must be capable of going through it. find some friends or whatever

If you dont have faith in yourself
then whoelse will? are you expecting someone elso to be confident with you? NO
you YOURSELF must be confident

I would brake down the work into small bits and write a check list of these small bits. When start doing the tasks on the list and check them off as you go. I found this a great help for me.

You can do it, you got this far right? Talk to your course tutor or lecturer or some other able student. Make sure you do the work though.

Good luck

It's supposed to be hard, or otherwise you wouldn't be learning.
