Y - Y0 = m( X - X0 )

m = 1.5
Y0 = -5
X0 = 16
that's all !

m = 1.5 = 3/2
(16,-5)

y = mx + c
-5 = (3/2)(16) + c
c = -5 - 24
c = -29#

y = (3/2)x - 29
2y = 3x - 58#

y = mx + c
m=1.5 and (16,-5) is on the line
So, -5 = 1.5 (16) + c
So, -5 = 24 + c
So, c=-29

Equation is y = 1.5 x - 29

2007-06-12 22:36:18 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

y + 5 = 1.5.(x - 16)
y + 5 = 1.5 x - 24
y = 1.5 x - 29

y-y1=m(x-x1)
m=1.5
(x1,y1)=(16,-5)
so the equation is
y-(-5)=1.5(x-16)
y+5=1.5x-24
1.5x-y-29=0
or, 3x-2y-58=0 ........on multiplying the whole equation by 2.
