To my understanding there were 9 people that night, 4 couples and 1 single lady. Is it not strange that the other 7 people have managed to keep themselves well away from the medias attention?
Would you not think that they would be coming forward with testemonials and open public support of the McCanns .
Or is it that they are keeping quiet for some other reason?

Donna m.. A statement by one of the waiters at the restaurant has said that the Mccanns never left the table that night but one person did for a short time and just once.confirmed by another staff member.

Well if I went on holiday with my friends it would be friends I love very much and were as close to us family so therefore if my friends were being slated by people all over the world I would not give a crap what some stupid campaign manager said I would stand up for my friends and defend them if I felt they were innocent. Just goes to show they are all selfish because they cared more about themselves then all those little babes who lay alone in a dark room in a strange place. They are all scared of the lynch mob that would be after them for being horrible parents or the are accessories to a crime because they know what really happened.

There were other people?? No one said anything? Were these people middle-class friends of the McCanns or fellow holiday makers? This publicity is going do the holiday resort and Portugal the world of good-NOT! Am I right in thinking that the McCanns are now in Morocco and there was a reported possible sighting of Maddie a few weeks ago? Why the time delay? If I was in that situation, I would be travelling here,there and everywhere trying to find my missing child, not meet 'n' greet with the Pope!

I think their silence is probably due to the fact that they have been interviewed as witnesses by the Portuguese police and have been told to say nothing to the Press etc.
There are so many things that we don't know because of the secrecy of the investigation but the main questionmark has always been over the McCanns.

Good question, it had not occurred to me before. I would imagine that they are in a state of shock and if they had behaved in the way the McCanns have it will be a case of "there but for the grace of God......." I would say they are keeping a very low profile, I know I would in their position!

maybe if they'd had their children as guests then Madeleine wouldnt be missing. I think there;s something strange. The McCanns dont seem to have any emotion and they are farting around europe on an extended holiday without their other two kids. I felt sorry for them at first and I cannot imagine what has happened to that little girl. I agree that its strange that the other people are staying out of it.

Weren't most of these people doctors or something in the medical profession? They are well used to backing each other up or keeping quiet if what they have to say might incriminate a colleague.

I think it's very strange that these people have been kept out of the media. I also think it even stranger that, as you say, they have not come forwarded and supported the McCanns either, but then, perhaps they don't think child neglect is wrong. I know at least one of the others also had a child, maybe that child was left home alone also.

Good question because they must be back in the UK by now and you'd have thought the media would be fighting for their story. Perhaps they're on the McCann payroll.

I'm guessing that they have been told NOT to say anything as there is a police investigation going on / police involvement about the way they left the kids in the first place.
