There were plenty of great Greek mathematicians, as to who was best, this is open to debate.
Personally I would say it is Archimedes, Eudoxus or Euclid but that is my take on the subject.
Others will disagree.

The Greeks by no ability were given algebra. in truth, the be conscious "algebra" is Arabic. They did get numerous geometry and some variety theory. i imagine you're taking under consideration Euclid. verify him out in Wikipedia and see if he suits the bill.
