If you or you're family are being physically attacked or if someone is trying to take away your civil liberties, freedom, and free will then you have a responsibility to yourself to fight for you're rights.
But violence for no good reason should never be tolerated
Any good received from violence would be short lived,
Karma will balance it out
What goes around, comes around

"Those who cling to the untrue doctrine that violence never settles anything would be advised to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Nations and peoples who forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms." ---Robert A. Heinlein

If it's for defense then I'm sure it's ok.
But sometimes I think violence would be the answer if the other party bows down to suppresive power.
However violence becomes a bane if both parties are easily agitated with acts of violence (toward each other). Especially if they like retaliating ... in a bigger force.

No it just generates more hate. And you're just going to come acroos as a little b*tch with no manners if you lay a hand on him. At least his sister showed some level of decency by not beating you up. You should show the same. Who likes a physically aggressive girl?

No it is never the answer rather talk to each other and find a solution - violence will only make things worse while if you just talked you might find a friend for life

I would have to say that violence would not be my first answer, but it is still there. Let me explain. Everyone has their limits of tolerance but if there isn't anything behind those limits to back them up then those limits are meaningless.
To say no but not do anything to stop "it" would almost be hypocritical.
I am in no way trying to justify violence but i see it as a way to help us stand our ground.
