I think you just want both sides of yourself to be recognized. If you live in a Western country, then white is seen as the standard of beauty and is more accepted than other races, so maybe you feel a bit rejected if they say you look Asian. I'm not saying that white is more attractive, but that is the perception here.
Maybe you have an issue with being biracial and would rather be one or the other to fit in. It would probably be easier if you looked more white than Asian. However, you shouldn't feel like any less of a person for being biracial. You are more unique than most people and you have a more interesting cultural make-up. If you did look more Asian, would that be so bad? I think you should learn to accept yourself, however you look. Talk to your parents and other biracial people. Try not to let the resentment get the better of you.
Ignore the "person" above me, she's obviously just twisted.

Sorry you feel that way. It has to do with how well have you owned your ethnic identity. You seem to be very balanced about it you are not JUST Asian you are also White and respect both of your cultures. That's what I get from what you wrote. But if I was you when people tell you that you look 100% Asian ask them what an Asian looks like. Asians can be from countries like China, Cambodia, Japan, etc. which happen to have some common features like slanted eyes. But Asians also include people from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, tell me do they look Asian... I think you should get informed and not mad, that way you can defend your position.

There must be a reason that you react this way.
Would you react the same if someone considered you biracial? Or do you not at all want to be considered Asian? It has been well-documented that some minorities tend to gravitate towards the physical characterics of the majority and make attempts to assimilate. My suggestion: If people are going to treat or view you as an Asian, you might as well accept it.
I am black, white, and Asian; however, the world sees me as soley being black. I used to reject the idea of being perceived as all black, but now I embrace it and have pride. I am not racially insensitive, but if they don't want me, why beg for their acceptance?

I am the same, except I am ashamed to admit I am half white, it is embarassing. People mostly think I am Mexican anyways, it's cool though because I like Mexicans, there down to Earth. Your problem is probably because you are surrounded by a white majority where you are seen as a minority all the time and always different. See, I am from Northern California and I lived in Hawaii and there you look just like everyone else and you do not stick out.

everyone wants to be understood, it's basic..maybe u feel your b/f doesn't understand, so u get mad. But if I were u and got mad at that comment, I would ask myself if I had something against being Asian, or against Asians in general or an Asian in particular....like the parent that is Asian. Are you embarrassed by it maybe? We are each unique, and you certainly can't change being the ancestry you are, so best to accept it, and like it!

have you ever seen the study where they put a black and a white barbie in front of little kids (of all races) and they were asked to pick the prettiest doll... most of the kids chose the white doll... isn't that sooooooo sad... the world has brainwashed people into this strange constantly shifting stadard of beauty... it just so happens that most of our models and actresses are white so that's what people start to think is the most beautiful way to look....
so maybe subconsciously you think so too....
personally i'm white and have always wanted to look asian... nobody's perfectly happy with themselves...so don't worry... and stop getting mad when he says that... he probably does because he thinks that it's awesome that you look the way that you do!!

you will always hear that. if you are half white and half Asian you will always be Asian. just like if you are half white and half black, you are black. read some of your history, learn who you are, believe it my sound dumb, but you will find yourself. i am half Asian and half black and i have blue eyes. but everyone says i look Asian or Hispanic. but if you learn history you will see what Hispanic means and what they are mixed with. if you want some good books to read about the subject just email me.
