You people who put "list as many reasons as possible" must think the rest of us are gluttons for punishment!
I recommend you watch this power point presentation -- 8 minutes, will answer all your questions. Go to:
http:// thefischbowl. blogspot.com (take out spaces),
and click on the Windows Media Player Version. Assuming you are computer literate of course! ;-)
Best wishes to ya!

you will be unable to do nothing in the world, for sending a letter, paying a bill, registering in an instititute, checking your account, and even talking to people who are far away and not in reach you will need computer knowledge. and there are lots of other reasons for ordinary people to know how to deal with it. for companies things are much more important. they have got to work with a mass of information and all decisions are made on the basis of the results those info give them. that's really critical for an employee to know how to enter data and get reports and keep eyes on how thinghs are going on in the department.
It's simply impossible to "live" without compter literacy.
[AND it's impossible to ask questions from people ;) ]
(I think you want this for an essay, is it true? good luck honey)

.....I think the best answer would be, as time passes, we find that more "computers" are being made, upgraded and replacing the jobs of every-day people. SO if you can operate a computer, you might be in luck...
