i always try, but sometimes cricumstances prevent me form doing so, and then i feel like crap

I only give my word of honor, period. It is non-negotiable. Conversely, I only accept the word of honor of others. Don't waste my time or compromise my faith in you with some BS "promise." Promises are all too easily broken.
