My friend asked me if i wanted a kitten, they were going to put him in the pound or watever if i didnt take him cause they couldnt keep him...so obviously i said okay...hes way too cute to resist and i couldnt do that to any animal..the thing is as of now i live with my mom (im 19 and i have a job) we already have 2 cats..she doesnt want another one just because she thinks she will have to pay for everything which is not true but refuses to even talk or listen about getting a kitten...SO because i didnt have the heart to say no i took the cat bought everything he needed..hes in my room and i really dont like hiding things from my mom..but i know once she finds out or i tell her she will think i decieved her and i dont want that..but she wont listen to me and i cant give the cat away.

What should i do?
how should i tell her?
when should i tell her?

Just tell her the truth, be open and honest about it, and make sure she knows that you bought everything you need for him. It shows that you are being responsible. Hopefully she will understand and you can keep your new fur baby. If you continue to hide it she's gonna be mad that you did so, more than she will be about the actual kitten. I did a similar thing at about your age but told her the next day. I was scared to death because my step dad hates cats (and me for that matter) but my mom understood and I had Smokey for several years. She was one of the best cat's I've had the privilege to know. Unfortunately though since you are living under her roof you will ultimately have to abide but what she says. I wish you all the best, hope you can keep him. Best wishes and good luck!

I would say tell her, If you keep on lieing and trying to hide the cat, when she finds out (that's right, she will find out), she would not trust you as much (also you might get grounded or something like that.) If you tell the truth, she wont be as bad because you owned up. If you don't have the guts to tell her, the only way to get out of it is to either give the cat away or give it back to your friend and say that you cannot keep it because your mom will not let you.

You should tell her. Buut for now keep the cat in your room, maybe play with it at night. When she starts talking about cats, or a commercial with a cat on it comes on start a conversation about them. Try telling her asap. Just tell her that your ready for a responsibility of taking care of a living thing (a cat) the tell her that since your an adult and you ca make you own decisions that you got a cat. Tell her that if you didn't take him, he would go to the pound and most likely die. I hope it works for ya. Good Luck

just tell her the truth. be honest. Tell her you are sorry you went behind her back but you know what happens at the pound and you just couldn't let that happen.
If she does say get rid of it then ask if you can have about 2 weeks to find it a home and then do as she says.
Maybe you can make a budget up showing her with your job how you plan to afford to keep this kitten.
Good Luck but be honest.
