The problem in Indian cricket is that former cricketers doesn't like to do coaching courses as coaching is a specialized job and one has to be a qualified hand to take over the job. Secondly all our sub continent countries are very much impressed with the white skin and consider them some thing out of the world. Thirdly our own "heroes" have no respect for country mate coaches.

a good question and a star for you.......

Indians are very talented and hardworkers proved in world cup 83 victory by Kapil Dev & team. Unfortunately the same stars of that world cup are completly out of the selection and decision making committee. The worst part of Indian cricket is unethical approach towards the sport and domination of power.
Mastermind of present selection committee and decision makers believe they can mess more if they go with foreign coach. Present committee is much more depends on "Execuses ". No long term planning........let's wait till things turn on favourable way......

Coaching is a specialised profession and need specialised skill and as such even best players cannot be good coach. Though there are many good ex-cricketers in India there is no one who has taken coaching as a profession. That is the main reason why many countries go for foregin coaches.
