The reason for this saying is to suggest the support that a woman offers to her man. A good wife or girlfriend provides a lot of support to a man. He can confide in her and vent to her. She also will encourage him when he has lost his will.

Going to twist the question a little. I believe that behind every sucess, be a man or a woman, that there is someone pushing, guiding or just giving reassurance.
The woman behind a man's sucess may have been true years ago, but these days it is just as true for a woman.

Not really, because in the olden days women were to be seen and not heard. So where is the truth in the quote there? I believe that every human man or woman is equally gifted with talents of DIFFERENT abilities that make us unique. When we come together and concord our ideas that gives us success.

It's funny you should ask this. When I used to work in a clinic with a bunch of doctors and physios I came up with the thought that behind every brilliant doctor there are 10 smaller people picking up after them.

More than likely theres a woman there making his lunches as he goes to comlete his success. But in the ends hes probably doing it for her especially.

I believe that IF there is a woman in his life, she will hold the strings to his heart loosely enough so that he has less to worry about and can focus on and have more incentive for success. She should be his incentive and motivation.

No. But I do believe that two people who are in sync can accomplish amazing things. That said, I think there's a lot of success without someone else necessarily fueling it.
