Several years ago I suffered what my psychiatrist described as a serious depressive episode as a result of issues at work. It took me almost 3 years to recover. When I had done, I decided I would never go through that again, so I just stopped letting things get to me so much. I started to train myself to forget about work as soon as I walked out of the door. It was difficult, but it stopped things from preying on my mind. Once you can do that, you will then be able to reduce your stress levels dramatically. You can start to enjoy your life outside work, and then come to realise that you work to live, not live to work.
When you break that barrier, you'll never suffer from work stress again.

When you leave work, leave all the cares and woes of the job there. Don't take the stress home with you. Who needs all that to mess things up so you can't enjoy life. Remember that a job's only a job. It's not your whole life. Also, if you're a coffee drinker cut back on the caffeine. It will definitely help. And when you're on a break, take a short walk outside if it's a nice day. That'll help you clear your head. There's lots of little tricks to deal with work-related stress. I should know. I worked for 50 years.

I get home, have dinner and then take myself out for a coffee at a cute little cafe or dessert at a close-by restaurant or I go for a stroll on the beach and listen to the waves. Whatever you do, whether it's taking a luxury bath or doing some Tai Chi or Pilates or meditation ... make it special by adding some soothing New Age music, plus little aromatherapy votive candles and even incense. Pamper yourself.
Also, consider talking to your work management about modifying your work schedule. If your stress becomes serious, it's more difficult to get your health back when it's gone than to proactively maintain a manageable lifestyle.
Stay cool!

I have a long commute and on my drive home, I pass a lot of dairy farms. You would not believe the different breeds of cows! I unwind as I drive, listening to talk radio or comedy radio (I have XM) and when I pull into the driveway, I can see that my husband is already home and the cats are waiting at the window. When I walk through the door, they all clamor for me to pet them and my husband kisses me and I say, this is the BEST part of my day!

You have to weight and see whether the money you get is worth it compares to the stress you have to endure. Make the decision what's more important to you. That's how I did it.
Do what you love and the money will come.
