Yes. I don't come there often since I don't drive myself, but of course I sometimes get a ride from people, and occasionally we stop at a gas station. And I'm always barefoot, everywhere. I trust my skin to keep dirt & pathogens out and even gasoline, oil and any other nasties wash off with soap and water. Feet are very tough and washable!

I just went to a "gas station"/convenience store barefoot AND shirtless. It was very hot out, and I walked the couple of blocks from where I live (my feet are VERY tough from going barefoot almost 24/7). I was very comfortable doing this, and not self-consious at all. It's NOT illegal (no health dept. reg.s), and this particular gas station has NO "No shirt, No shoes, No service" sign, plus the owner is cool with bare feet. Only a minority of people consider it rude or in poor taste, so I enjoyed the free feeling of walking to the store wearing only shorts.
No one seemed to mind. As I said, only a minority considers this act rude. On "Yahoo! Answers" of course, you will find that this minority is very vocal (and I might add ill-informed). The only time you cannot be barefoot at a gas station/convenience store
is when the owner/board of the store/company has a rule against it, and even this is not NEARLY as common as people seem to think it is. AND SO, my friend, be well and be bare, if you so wish. As I said, it's NOT illegal, rude or lewd, and MOST people do not mind at all. Ciao

Being a southern lady in the USA..I'm always barefoot in the house and yard...but never at the "gas station"....
have you looked at the pavement there....yuck...there is chewed gum ....gasoline drips.....oil from cars.....everything tracked there on the bottoms of shoes...smashed pieces of thrown out lunches....that are not recognizable...pet stuff....and so much more...my feet won't go there bare....only dressed...

Loved your question....now back to answering more questions...

Yes, every once and a while I will get out to get gas and leave my heels in the cars.
