Ok I've gotta say that I've been looking into building a catamaran as well.
Now let me get this straight....
You want some kind of propulsion other than wind which I'm assuming you're already using as your main power when on open water.
You don't want a traditional trolling motor, you don't want an electric trolling motor, and you don't want to paddle....What else is there? Either we don't understand your question or you're not being reasonable.
You get someone to tow you or rig up some pedals attached to a paddle wheel.

I built a 19' dory with oars and sails but now I'm thinking about installing a recumbant bicycle attached through a driveshaft through the transom to a variable pitch propellor. I'm committed to human power and it sounds like you are too, I don't mind if you borrow my idea just don't patent it.

Go with wind propulsion if you are buiding a catamaran. Wind is cheap. A mast, sails, and rigging may not be cheap though.
