Yeah, it's wierd. I think I am fond of the word just because I consider myself very random.

Yes, I do too. If you don't know, random numbers are very important in certain kinds of simulations (so-called "Monte Carlo" simulations) of natural or social phenomena. It's not easy to get true random numbers, however. A famous American physicist (I forget his name), when commenting on this, said, "The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to change." Thought you'd like the story.
