OK, I finally found the specs- it appears that the Gateway GT5432 sports an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ processor, so most definitely the 8800GTS would be a sweet addition.

The motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot, so yes!

My only recommendation is to add another 1GB or RAM- you'll need it since this machine comes with Vista.

Check out the following:
1. Adequate physical space in your case for that monster card.
2. Strong +12V rail of your power supply. Dual rail is best. The 8800GTS is a 106 watter.
3. Retail power supplies are 150mm wide. Check your current power supply for upgrade compatibility.

The 8800GTS rocks. it may take care of any sport of in the present day comfortably and can want to probably take care of many video games for some destiny years. the in ordinary words issue i will see coming is in case you want to run very intense resolutions, then the 368mb version might want to no longer minimize it.
