As we all know, had Ken Griffey Jr stayed healthy his entire career, he would be right up there with Barry trying to pass Hank Aaron around this time. Pretending Griffey was healthy for his entire career, and he and Bonds were dead even in this HR race, who would you rather see break it? Most of Griffeys injuries have been from him being the man in center and slamming into the wall at full speed.

I know Bonds is the one who will break it, but I did say PRETEND Griffey's spent his entire career healthy. Stop saying this isnt a fantasy world, I said pretend.

It appears as though someone who is deeply in love with Bonds gave everyone who voted Griffey a thumbs down. That's mature. Just so you know, a Griffey answer will get Best Answer, just looking for a good explanation. Bonds is a cheating idiot, so is everyone who picked him.

I would like to see Griffey, Jr. break the record over bonds. He is a more complete player on both sides of the ball. He has a very smooth swing that generates a lot of power. He is also a very down to earth person and stays out of trouble and plays baseball for the love of the game.

It's true that the "heir apparent" to the all time HR race would have been Ken Griffey, if Barry Bonds competed with him toe-to-toe. It's not any type of negative attitude towards Bonds or any steroid allegation (unfounded and without proof) because I am a Giants fan. Although I've watched Ken as a Mariner and Red, and Bonds as a Pirate and Giant, the edge would go to Ken, if he stayed away from injuries.

Barry never took steroids until someone in MLB or the Supreme Court says so and makes an announcement to the public. Negative test results, "he said, she said", squabbling over head sizes, and name calling just does not seem to turn me on to a guilty verdict any time soon..... I just think that the name callers are the most irritating thing on earth..... No proof, but they carry on like playground bullies not letting up and acting ignorant.....

Barry is kind, considerate, friendly and totally grounded. Most people don't know that because they've never met him personally and many times for that matter, like I have. They let the media talk for them and get brainwashed into what the media thinks and not what their brain wants to hear.

Ken Griffey Jr would be neck and neck with Bonds right now if it weren't for his hard play and lack of steroids in his body to keep him from getting hurt! It's a shame that the "best" home run hitter in baseball has to take a backseat to Bonds and watch his record get taken away! But don't count Griffey out he's knocking on the door of 600 homers and he's got a good 5-6 years to potentially go if he can keep from getting hurt. If he can average 30 home runs a year for 5-6 years he may be the all-time leader. I'm still rootin for him!!!

it could have been intense-high quality to be sure Junior destroy that checklist, yet he somewhat has no shot. What evidence is there that he can play an entire season and stay healthful? The final time he performed in over a hundred and forty video games in a season replaced into back in 2000....when you consider that then, he's averaged in straightforward terms ninety two video games according to season and 324 at bats according to season... Bonds had 613 HR whilst he replaced into Griffey's age (37)... Griffey's somewhat at the back of that, and he will in all probability get extra effective at the back of each and every twelve months... Bonds hit 40 six homers at age 37, 40 5 at age 38 and 40 5 back at age 39 (He hit the seventy 3 Homers on the age of 36)... Griffey desires to outdo that by a substantial margin to make up for the floor he's lost by being injured continuously. So, barring some medical miracle on Griffey's section, i do no longer see how he can catch and bypass Bonds, even regardless of the undeniable fact that he's youthful...he in basic terms hasn't been waiting to stay healthful. And Bonds somewhat did no longer have that many "at bats" the two in the process the previous couple of seasons, using fact he walks lots... yet Griffey is going to ought to placed up some completely excellent numbers to catch Bonds. Plus, if he does placed up this variety of numbers mandatory to catch Bonds, I extremely have a feeling the steroid rumors will start up following Griffey...he's been freshen up so a ways, think of what the writers could say approximately him if he all of sudden makes up for all that lost floor....

Unfortunately we never got to see Always Healthy Junior play, which is probably good for him because he gets an automatic pass from the 'roids ranters. No one wants to beat on the kid who cheated on his final exam and still got a D.

And if we play that thought game, we must also give back Bonds his complete 1999 and 2005 seasons, and he'd already have Aaron in his rear-view mirror and be looking for #800 soon.

On Healthy World, or at least the Griffey Healthy So We Can Play This Fantasy World, I honestly would not care who got the record first. Merely the duel would be captivating.

On this world, by now, I'd prefer Bonds to get there first simply because it'd take Griffey playing until, oh, 2018 to do it. Maybe. And I'm pretty sure that's not gonna happen.

There's no doubt about it Ken Griffey Jr. He has more class than Bonds will ever have. Looking into the future, I'm hoping ARod will beat his record

Griffey overall is much more likable player simply for the fact that he's a more friendly player. He still goes out there as if he just a kid playing ball and fans love him for that.

While Barry always finds ways to piss off the media, fans and his own team mates. He's is an incredible ball player, but scores low when is comes to social skills.

Clearly it shows in this years All-Star balloting.

KEN GRIFFEY JR.

Actually, I'd rather see any player in the MLB but Barry break the record. Out of all the cheaters, he's the most arrogant, self centered one. Very bad for the game.

Definently Ken Griffy Jr. Griffy was the kind of guy who thought he was a kid playing a game he loved and lived for and showed it every day he played. Had he stayed healthy the record would have been broken by now. I hope the guy hits 650 before he retires. Bonds is an arrogent, self centered asshole who only cares about himself. He opts out of all star games, doesn't want his name in baseball video games due to lack of payment compensation for his name being used, and thats not even mentioning the roids. Griffy was a baseball hero in the 90's and never let it get to his head. He never acted close to how Bonds acted. I hope Bonds goes blind, has a heart attack, gets arrested, banned from baseball, anything to keep him from tainting the games most well known record. Griffy was the man, Bonds just represents everything you shouldn't do as an athlete and human being.
