I know I do sometimes and wish I could have been better. My parents said I was a good child that gave them very few problems but I could have been better. For example, when I was about to turn 9 years old my mom went out to buy me a birthday present and I knew about it. When she came back she left the gift in the bag inside the van that night because I was inside and she didn't want to bring it in for me to see it. She also told me not to go out to the van to see what it was. Well, I was curious and did anyways and saw that she had got me a GIJOE vehicle. Afterwards, I felt very guilty for disobeying her because not only did I disobey her but she said that for my own good so I would be surprised on my birthday when I opened it up. Needless to say, opening up birthday gifts was a little less exciting knowing what I was going to get. I learned my lesson and never did that again but, I still know I could have been a better son.

Well let me see, I raised myself from about the age of 14 on... So no, I don't have very many regrets... I am only thankful I knew how to be forgiving because now I have a strong relationship with my mom...
And dad? If I ever meet him I will love him too....

No, because I was a pretty good kid. If told not to do something, I usually didn't. However, I was inclined to not ask, and just do. Which drove them nuts.

I feel most badly about not doing more for them. My parents were perfectionists, and it was tough to ever do anything to their standards, so I quit trying an early age, and just did what I felt was appropriate. I wish I'd have done more for them even if it wasn't perfect enough.

(*shrug*) I figure they did the best they could as parents, and I did the best I could as a kid. It worked out okay, so I can't say I actually feel "guilty".

I always felt bad when I disobeyed my parents. I guess thats why my rebelious streak developed after I was 18 but still living at home. And I still feel awful for some of the things I had done that I am sure my parents had long forgotten.

No I didn't cause any problems with my parents so I don't feel guilty for not disobeying them. When I look back I was a great daughter and if they were alive they would say that.

Not to get all psychological here, but nobody's perfect. There's no such thing as a perfect kid. Everyone looks back at their past and thinks about what they could've done better. Doing so helps you think clearer if you are ever faced with a similar situation as an adult. Sure, we could all be better, but the past is the past, and there's no changing it now.

Yes, I always feel guilty when I disobey them. Parents are not ALWAYS right but still, as a child who's been brought up perfectly be them.. it is our duty to not disobey them &stuffs.

It's not only you.. lots of people do feel guilty, like me too.

It's all a part of growing up. I think all of us have let our parents down at one time or another. The important thing is to learn from the mistakes you made. My Mom always called those types of things character builders.

All children have done that, i know I did my share of peeking in the presents! That does not make you a bad kid, only a curious one!

I never disobeyed my parents, they gave me good discipline. If I did, they would've gave me a good spank.
