Why is it considered arrogant when a pretty woman says "Yes, I'm pretty" ....but not when an ugly woman says "Yes, I'm ugly" ???

Remember the adage, “beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes all the way through”?
I'd be surprised to hear the later from any self-respecting woman. In my book self-respect is attribute number one when rating a woman's beauty. When I hear a woman occasionally say that she pretty that does not rate as "arrogant" but signifies that she is confident, which is also an important attribute.

Arrogance means the display of superiority. And I don't think calling yourself ugly would really give off that impression.

i think that when a pretty woman says she's pretty, people might think she is conceited and over confident.

cause the pretty one is more accepted by society because we base a lot on looks...so she doesn't need to state the obvious....
