I wish we could rid of all the Napoleonic code, English common law, Roman law, Codex Justinianus etc. and just have to follow the Torah.

The Torah is the first five books of the Bible but can also mean the traditional 613 commandments contained within them.

What is the Torah...? For those of us who do not know, you should have explained as you do everything else... Gathering from the first response, this has to do with multiple again...

OH! That explains things then... FYI , God only tolerated multiple marriages because we were ignorant and it served a purpose... As we gained more knowledge, we learned that multiple wives would stop, errr, you did read that part right?

I am surprised that you would want to abolish the Napoleonic code. It allows men to treat their women lilke property, which is what you preach most of the time anyway.

The preliminary article of the Code established certain important provisions regarding to the rule of law. Laws could only be applied if they had been duly promulgated, and if they had been published officially (including provisions for publishing delays, given the means of communication available at the time); thus no secret laws were authorized. It prohibited ex post facto laws (i.e. laws that apply to events that occurred before them). The code also prohibited judges from refusing justice on grounds of insufficiency of the law — thereby encouraging them to interpret the law. It, however, prohibited judges from passing general judgments of a legislative value, see above.

With regard to family, the Code established the supremacy of the husband with respect to the wife and children; this was the general legal situation in Europe at the time. It, however, allowed divorce on relatively liberal basis compared to other European countries, including divorce by mutual consent.

Funny, I was going to say the same thing about physics. But the Torah would make more people happy. Less religion and more logic in the world that way.

All this does is supply youngsters a loose invitation to pass abode and function some days vacation. Why isn't there a equipment in college for toddlers who're in hardship to paintings it off? or maybe an in college suspension the position they can nevertheless do their college paintings yet they ought to take a seat interior an similar spot all day.
