From the course catalog:
This course will introduce students to various texts in order to analyze them and deconstruct notions of "straight" ideology that are present. Students will be introduced to key terms such as gender, femininity, masculinity, homosexuality, bisexuality and transgender.

I would think so...at least I would hope so...because as it stands right now they are the only ones to have the knowledge and empathy to teach it...in my opinion.

I am ignorant of the class, Queer Theory...but it does NOT sound like a class about homosexuality...what's the theory?

I take issue with the term "all." Any time I see this word heading up a question, the answer is most probably NO...

Right So what is your point? There was nothing in the catalog that said it was going to be taught by a person who is gay.

Can a professor that is straight give an accurate evaluation of the subjects to be presented. If I were in that class and he/she didn't I can tell you his/her tenure would be in question very quickly.

Trying to teach 30-40 year old psychology of gender would go over like a fart in church.

I wouldn't make the assumption. One of the best classes I took was a "Women in Literature" class taught by a male professor. It wouldn't take a homosexual or even bisexual prof to teach that sort of class so, while they may be more likely to be interested in teaching it, there would be enough heterosexual profs interested to advise against that sort of assumption.

NO. No it would not be safe. Why do you want to stereotype all professes into one group? Cant straight people teach. It would be like saying all home ech teachers and students are woman.

I don't know why. I'm straight and I think I could teach that class.

You know that queer means strange not necessarily gay?
I doubt queer theory is a class on being a homosexual!
