Yes, because you can't be sure if the attraction to you is for the real you or if it is what you can buy for the person. Even if they truly love you there will always be some doubt.
Sex on the other hand can be bought.

Oh hell no. My best relationships are the ones where the guys bought me things... maybe because in all the other relationships where I bought the majority of the food/dates/whatever I felt used!
