Well, the liberals sold us on the "support the Lottery Tickets because part of every dollar supports the schools".
And they're still a mess.
Don't blame the conservatives for this.
And yes, for the over $8000.00 of tax money per child it costs for public school, each student should each get a brand new laptop every year and still have plenty of money to run the district properly.
But no. Liberals had to whine about kids who didn't eat breakfast. So the schools started feeding the kids of parents who were too lazy to get up and make their meals..
Again, stop blaming the conservatives.

no not really. Home schooled kids have wiped the floor with public schooled kids in national competitions for years now. In order to fix the school system you have to do several things. Introduce accountability, limit bureaucracy, and raise academic standards.
You can't fire a teacher at all in the present system. We can't get rid of the bad ones and we can't reward the good ones. This must be addressed.
Bureaucracy makes jobs for people that are meaningless. If it is not directly related to teaching students it must be cut. This would free up the money for real productive teaching.
Academic standards are so low that only the students who take responsibility for their own education are getting much of any education at all. Standards must be raised and the students must be held accountable with no regard to their "feelings".

This is how to improve our school system...
RAISE THE STANDARDS BACK TO PRE-1960 LEVELS. DRAMATICALLY INCREASE DISCIPLINE IN THE CLASSROOM AND ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, YEAR AROUND SCHEDULES, UNIFORMS, PHYSICAL TRAINING CLASSES, GET RID OF ALL THE TRIVIAL SUBJECTS AND TEACH MUCH MORE HISTORY GEOGRAPHY AND READING COMPREHENSION. DEMAND STUDENTS APPLY THEMSELVES OR MOVE THEM TO A STRICTLY CONTROLLED TRADE SCHOOL SO THEY CAN AT LEAST LEARN A SKILL THAT WILL PROVIDE THEM WITH A JOB.
Source(s):
Our school system was good until the Liberal US Government, (John and Bobby Kennedy) and the ACLU/NAACP got involved. Over the years since, schools have been integrated even when parents of all races did not want integration. (Kids on Buses 2-4 hours a day) Also, the academic standards have been lowered to the point of stupidity and no longer challenge the average student, which creates excessive boredom in the school environment. This is absolutely true. I watched it happen.

Absolutely not. Neither government run schools nor any institution or entity that denies the God of creation will prosper.
But if, by chance, some marginal improvement in test scores is attained after such exodus, it would mean nothing to me.
Education, though it has its uses, is not the way, though it has been called that in many circles. Jesus has that title.
"I am the Way..." The only school any child of mine will ever attend is one where He is given preeminence. On top of book knowledge, they will have a strong foundation in Truth.
In this day and age, we see so clearly what happens when "education" is exalted above truth. Many of the "highly educated" lack wisdom. They are in positions of power in our nation. From teachers and school superintendents, to governors and congressmen, their influence has a great impact on this nations course. Many of them got their starts in schools that laid Darwinism and moral relativism as their foundations.
Unless the government run schools improve by reinstating the Truth of God's Word, they will always fall short.

I'm not sure homeschooling has proper guidelines.
I know public schools try to teach but forcing useless subjects.is a waste to everyone.

I personally think all schools would be better off if the government kept its hands out of our children's education all together.

No because if they all did, they would demand to not pay taxes into the system. Then we would all be responsible for their uneducated kids. not all conservatives are rich and capable of private and or homeschooling. Most of the homeschooled kids that I have run into operate at about a third grade level.

Schools do well when parents and the kids care about their education. Homeschooling isnt the answer. Money isnt the answer. Parental involvement is.

Yes...at least we would have to teach our kids that fairies and elves created the earth only 5,000 years ago. And we wouldn't have to have any stupid moments of silence that waste valuable classroom time and we wouldn't have any idiot parents complaining about books in the library (Harry Potter is just the beginning, check out the banned book list. The crazies feel threatened by people who know how to read) and there wouldn't be any stupid nonsense about having a class on the bible. All of it, over. It would be...something of a blessing.
