It is famous that my mother's family is among the earliest to live in our town. My father's clan is from another area of the state. My grandmother comes from a another area.

Judge Hyram Lynch settled on the western banks of The Brazos River. He dug a well and the water was said to have healing powers due to the Minerals it contained. A Crazy woman drank from the well and was cured. Therefore the town was named Mineral Wells Texas. The town built on Water. We were a booming town in the early 1900's with several large hotels, and a thriving tourist industry.

"Beotrix" is the first one we know of, about 1, 375 years ago.
The town got its current name about 1,150 years ago from the martyr king who lived here.
