2 days ago i hit my pinky and bent it sideways and back. it hurted but not so much. now, my finger(s) and my hand is numb. i can't close my hand all the way cause my pinky won't close completely. i have a throbbing pain in my finger. it's swollen, since i can't get in to my doc. should i just go to an urgent care? i don't like going to the ER.

I'm not a doctor, but I've raised two kids so here's my take on your pinkie: it would have been best to ice it and take ibuprofen at the time it happened, but you can still do that now. If icing it and taking ibuprofen don't help the swelling go down, or if the pain gets worse and the numbness doesn't go away, within another 24 hours, then I would suggest you go to urgent care. While you're icing your pinkie, look up injuries on Web MD. It will give you the professional medical advice that I can't, but at least my suggestion will get you some relief, okay?

sounds like you might have a pinched nerve in your hand (this would cause the numbness)
if it's broken-it should be splinted (the urgent care can do this for you).
i would go ahead and have it looked at by the urgent care staff. numbness and not being able to close your hand all the way are signs of moderate injury.

go to ER. make sure that you tell the lady at the counter that you can;t feel a damn thing. they'll prioritize you as a more urgent patient thus waiting time is reduced.
a swollen pinky is fine, but whne you feel nimbness, it's affecting your nerves. so get something done bout it before it becomes blue or something. :D

If you finger is broken they cant do to much for it. Use ice on it for now and if it starts hurting so much you can't stand it go to the ER.

nothing can be done for injurered finger or toes. go to the store and get a split for it and some tape or use a popsicle stick. thats all they will do but charge more.
