Sometimes a few tickets will end up back at the box office, but your best bet would be to find someone selling them outside the stadium.

they do have game tickets on game day
they are popular and oculd have sell outs
the web page has calendar boxes and in the boxes there is a check mark for available tickets and prices

Yes, you can get tickets on the Day of Game, but I wouldn't risk getting stuck without one.
Visit their website and get them in advance.
Or if you live close by, stop by one of their clubhouse stores and get them there.

you can only get yankee tickets on the day of the game from street vendors.
