It has a angel fish,sail fin tang,a terror bat,and a animone. Ther was a feather duster but it disappered,

Is this thing around 1/2 inch, light tan/yellow with spikes or threads coming out of it that seem to suspend the ball inside a hole in the live rock?
If so, it is a sponge. I've got a few of these in my tanks.

I agree with Copperhead. When I first started seeing them, I actually tried getting them out. Then my friend set me straight. :-)

it might be food.... i noticed this while cycling my tank, food sitting at the bottom grew a white film that looked like that...
