yeah! single bond,(tetrahedrally arranged 4 atoms constitutes each molecule) ,but the bond is abnormal in the sense that the bond angle is 60 deg,( normal = 90 deg) thus the P atoms are under considerable stress & easily get detached.
this explains the activity of white P.

The 4 x P atoms are arranged in a tetrahedron, all connected by single bonds.
