I do not think they will win the Super Bowl but I think that they have a chance to make the playoffs. They are my sleeper pick this year. I think that most people over look the Lions. They are very solid running at the running back position. They have Kevin Jones who I think is very underrated running back. Even though he was hurt last year he got 8 touchdowns. Not only is Kevin a good running back is good receiving back too. Last year he had over 600 yards receiving. Also they added some very good backup running backs, Tatum Bell and TJ Duckett. They have a very good wide receiving core. Their wide receiver Roy Williams is outstanding. Last year he had over 1300 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was fourth in league in receptions. Mike Furrey is a very reliable receiver. Last year he had over 1000 yards and do not forget about their rookie Calvin Johnson. They could also get Dante Culpepper. Culpeper could help the Lions team a lot. The Lions are missing a quarterback who can get the job done. I believe if they sign Culpepeper that is what kind of quarterback they will get. As long as their defense can hang in there they will do alright. They have also got some people in the in the off-season who can really help their defense out. Travis Fisher is a very good corner back. They have also gotten a few more player like Corey Smith and Dewayne White. Also they are playing in the NFC the worse conference in the league. They are playing in the NFC North which is the worst division in football. I could see them go 4-2 or 5-1 in the division. If they do that then they are half way to making the playoffs. I think they will go 9-7 with a wildcard spot. If they can make the playoffs than they maybe they can get on a wining streak and win the Super Bowl like the Steelers in 2005.

Does the name Dick "Night Train" Lane ring a bell? If not, it's because that Detroit Lion defensive back known for his hard hits that would knock the lights out of his opponents, was on the last Lions team to win a championship back in the 50's! Yes those Elvis - Edsel - President Eisenhower 50's with only a smell of a Super Bowl during the Barry Sanders years but never a taste in the last 50 plus years. You will have the biggest last laugh in NFL history if the Lions are champs, but in the mean time, I'll take that bet that not only do they not win the NFC, nor their division, but are more likely to finish last in the division.

Sorry, I like the Lions as much as the next guy, but if they don't start trading for a rush defense then they are lookin at 6-10 tops. Kitna looked good last year and the pass D was fair to good, still that is not enough in the NFC. The only teams that have a chance to make the playoffs that didn't last year are Carolina, St Lois and SF.

I am not from Detroit and am not really a Lions fan, but I like what they have been doing since they fired Matt Millen from the front office. They have begun to build a team from the ground up and have made their draft picks count. If they are patient and keep building like they have been, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win one in the next 5-10 years. It's a little to hard to pin down an exact year, but my guess would be 2017. Only time will tell.

ARE YOU JOKING!!!
the browns are closer to winning a super bowl. the bears are going to win that division again and the loins will be 6-10 at best but not even make the playoffs. the GM is a joke. why take a WR in the first round in what 4 out of 5 years. and Kitna as a QB he can only lead himself to the unemployment line. the AFC is also the dominate conference and whoever wins the AFC championship game WILL WIN THE Super Bowl.

Your Hilarious!!! The Raiders have a better chance than the Lions. If you couldn't win a Super bowl win you had Barry Sanders why would you think you will win one now. Just face it the Lions will be one of the worst teams in the NFL again this year.

either your a Lion's fan or a complete idiot. Unless all the other teams have injuries to all of their players the Lions will not even make the playoffs. They are still weak. Lets be honest just because you got Calvin Johnson doesnt mean you are going to be champions. This isnt basketball a top 10 pick doesnt mean ****

Calvin Johnson, whocares. Youve had a number of WRs in the 1st round for a few years now and you guys will still end up in the same spot, last place. Bears take the NFC North.
Chicago Bears:
2006-2007 NFC Champions and soon to be 2007-2008.

They might turn it around a little this year. But a even .500 record is quite the stretch.
I'm a Jaguars fan and I'm just hoping for 8-8 again. That's called being a realist.
