FDR, has to be him, regardless of your political views.
Was crippled by polio and was wheelchair bound
Founded the march of dimes
Dealt with the great depression
Dealt with world war two
Came up with the GI bill to aid the adjustment of our country from war to peace
http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/history.htm
Elected president 4 times (the reason we have term limits now)
read up on the guy he was a remarkable man.

FDR a socialist? you must have gotten your BA from a degree mill that isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
Yes Japanese-Americans were put into camps, IT WAS WAR, and not a piddling little war like Iraq.
As for the great depression, yes it probably would have corrected itself in time, but how many people would have suffered needlessly without the government stepping in? FDR's new deal put people to WORK so they could feed their families and the things they did are STILL aiding the economy, look around most big cities and you will find buildings, roads, bridges, and many other things that help this country's economy.
In my city (Toledo, OH) The WPA built large and beautiful zoo exhibits that are still in use. Our Main downtown library is a WPA building as well.

Best inaugural speech. I remember watching it on the old B/W. I have an Uncle that met him in the Navy. Said he sat on his hat and he did not get upset.
Did a good job at keeping his ailments out of the press. The MM thing (not proven of course). Then there is all those dead folks voting in Chicago.
Like Presidents Lincoln, T. Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower before him he had events going on that ensured his fame. He was very good and he broke ground in need of plowing.
I will go with a B+.
The A's to Washington for setting the standard of stepping aside, Lincoln for proving that the 39% that voted for him were right, TR for not backing down, Eisenhower for the Interstate highways.

He wasn't even the best candidate of his brothers. Teddy wins the worst but he was not as good as Bobby. Bobby was a strong manager and leader that the mafia did not want to be President. Jack was just the oldest so that he got the first try as President. He was certainly charismatic especially after Ike. But he made a lot of mistakes.

disagree Their ability on major activities is restricted to advocating law, international kinfolk, and conflict. Take the Republican declare that Reagan ended the chilly conflict. as if an American President telling them to end Communism is what ended it, really than the sheer weight of that equipment. as if faster or later ardent communists wakened , listened to Reagan and ended their empire. It replaced into thousands, 1000's of Russians operating to loose themselves. It replaced into the adult adult males and females those who uncovered the horrors of Stalinism by writing the samizdat, . It replaced into leaders like Gorbachev that took an honest look at communism and requested, why are not the human beings wealthier? It replaced into the very incontrovertible truth that the equipment couldn't even feed its human beings meat, that led to the equipment to fall. It replaced into the infantrymen who stood up with Yeltsin to offer up an tried coup. no longer some B action picture actor making a speech.

He and Nixon (yep, I said it) were two of the most honorable presidents in my lifetime. Both really served their country and even though Kennedy could have used his family's influence and power to "hide out" in some civil defense unit, like Bush and ALL of his cronies. He chose to be a man a serve.
Richard Nixon, on the other hand was the last president we had that ever had to REALLY work for a living. He was raised poor and rose to the occasion.
Mr. Nixon also had an aversion to the monied, over-privleged people in Washington, the RNC and the Texas Oil Cartel. This is why he was "set up" and ulitimately disgraced for trying to protect his own party.

I'm not sure, though he was a pretty good one. Certainly, the best of my generation( born after 1980) is without a doubt Bill Clinton. But from studying in my history classes, the best of all has to be FDR. He introduced lots of legislation that we still use today. Yep.

Yes, he very well could have been. I had the supreme honor and privilege of meeting him in 1960. He was the most awesome human I have ever shook hands with. It was such a tragedy that he was cut down.
bill clinton, on the other hand, was the most disgusting worm I ever shook hands with (that was in 1986 or 7). I'm still kicking myself for not putting the slime trail leaving SOB in a permanent coma back then!

What the hell did he do but die? Johnson did more then Kennedy, and gets none of the credit. Why is it liberals obsess over a man who accomplished nothing in office but womanizing and getting killed? He died young, he was martyred in the eyes of many, but that is why people such as yourself are delusional. FDR was a socialist who locked up Japanese Americans against the advice of J. Edgar Hoover (look it up). He did not get us out of the great depression, American economic progress and a war got us out of that. Kennedy, DID nothing but point us toward the moon, and cheat on Jackie..and get killed.

i dont think anyone implied it was his fault for being killed; and having an airport named after you (what, 1 month after you were killed as a sitting president) doesnt qualify you for greatest president.
all presidents have lied about something - big, small, of high state import, or otherwise.
kennedy's father was a bootlegger who taught all of his sons about the joy of sexual promiscuity while the trophy wife raises the kids. his marital issues were at least one lie, and im sure there are many others, what with being human and all.
