V = 1/3bh
If v = 8 cm and
h = 2cm

Just plug in the value of v and h to find b

8 = 1/3b (2)
8 = 2/3b
8(3/2) = (3/2)2/3b
12 = b
b = 12 cm ===> the answer

v = (1/3).b.h
8 = (1/3) x b x 2
24/2 = b
b = 12 cm²

Note
v = 8 cm³ is the volume
b = 12 cm² is area of base.
h = 2 cm is the height.
