Ok, well I have no idea if this is even the right category to put it in... Anyway, how can someone have a definite answer, and/or opinion on a situation/question when both sides have their equal "supporting-factor" (i'm pretty sure theres a word for it.. if you know it, tell me plz!! :P) to support their side of belief. For example, starting off small, if someone called you ignorant, can't you say their innoicent? Moving on to bigger issues like abortion, both sides have great arguments, but I just don't see how people can "choose" a side when both sides' argument are equally good. And yes, I know I'm being hypocritial by not seeing how other people have the rights to belief whatever they want. But can a person be truly without bias? And what do you think a person like that will be treated in our society today?

Being human means being biased. ~
In the end you have to make your own decisions as to what you accept as being right and proper. And that depends on your upbringing as well as your life's experiences.
The Germans have a great saying which translates as 'One man's tale is no man's tale, you have to hear both sides'.
Keeping an open mind is paramount. My opinions are based on information and facts I have collected all my life, but all are subject to change if sufficiently different AND logically acceptable fact come up.
Don't talk to me about 'belief' and 'faith' though. To me those are things for the gullible and willing to be fooled ones, which I am NOT. ;-)

A person could never be truly without bias- bias is gained through environment as a child. For a child to be completely unbiased as an adult it would have to be raised by nothing, and interact with nothing. It is impossible to be unbiased.
However, we do have the choice of acting on that bias. In debate, there's a certain type of judge that enters the round with a clean slate- regardless of personal beliefs he or she is willing to let the better supported side win. This is possible in all things, it's just really, really hard.
One can only have a definite answer to things when their own moral scruples do not bend to others beliefs. I, for example, am a Christian- while I do not condemn everyone to Hell at every moment, I have made informed decisions on many things, such as abortion, through the Bible and Christian views.
It is impossible to create a list of definite answers... I guess the best thing to say here is: To each his own.
I hope I helped a little bit.

Oh- and though a person without bias might be truly admirable, today's society would treat him or her as weak- as we all know it, it is highly popular to have a strong opinion.

Well they might be called wishy washy or flip flopper. Truly you get much maligned by the press if you are a politician and you think both sides are valid. I would not recommend anyone get an abortion, but I grew up before Roe Vs Wade and I would never want to take back the right to choose.

I have very mixed feelings about the immigration issues facing the US right now.

And I do believe the best way to "Support the Troops" is to bring them safely home.

Truth is a discourse that only makes sense within a specific context. People can truly be without bias, that is why we have judges in our courts, they just cannot be unbiased about everything, that is why they can excuse themselves from cases.

I get what you are trying to say. I agree both sides of a lot of issues have good arguments. It's hard to make up your mind which one you agree with when you agree with some of what each has to say.

I would call that person conflicted. My personal observations is that person will be considered a "fence sitter" and often be treated disdainfully.

Don't sweat it though. It is their problem, not yours.
