Why not? I have several male friends that I chat online with, on the phone and in person. Why should male-female friendships be off limits? It all depends on what's in the mind.

I'm not sure. If the guy only does it when his wife isn't around, or if sexual etc. topics come up, I'd say definitely not. I have sometimes done IMs with women who asked me questions about nature photography--what kind of lens to buy, etc. This was not "general chatting." It wasn't a regular thing either. I kind of think that spending much time doing it is bad because it would take time away from your wife and family. A couple of times I met a few of the women met online, from nature photo message boards. They were married and my wife definitely went along. They were just decent people interested in photography. I meet some of my online photo buddies like this several times a year. I am more likely to chat with a guy who likes photography or duck hunting than do it with a woman.

Not that I can say I agree with what you are doing, however, you are determined to do it, so I can suggest how i met women, its simple, Yahoo IM. You have to chat with them, its free, and you can get lucky. Its a little bit of work, but you can find women there, yes, married women who are also looking for someone else to have fun with. The only problem with Yahoo IM now, the bots, but I believe there are still actual humans that talk in there.

As in plan to meet another woman on line and chat? Absolutely not.

Or go to a chat room about a specific topic, non threatening to your marriage of course... and then happens to end up chatting with a woman... no harm done here.

No way. Don't put up with that. He has no business talking to other women on line. There are marriages all over the world being ruined by on line infidelity. Just go to 'on line infidelity' and read all about it.

Hell no. I dont think anyone in a committed relationship should flirt with anyone else, be it online or face to face. But that is just me. Men are going to do whatever we allow them to.

If they are talking to their sister, mother or concerning business it is fine. Otherwise If their intentions are not in the best interest of their marriage vows it is wrong and any cheap excuse is inexcusable.
