It is a common practice to charge "Shipping and handling" fees. When you order a product from a catalog, the Internet or television, they should clearly state any additional taxes and fees.

However, from how I read it, you feel that you are victim of a scam. If so, then follow these instructions.

1. Refuse the delivery. Tell the FedEx guy to send it back to the sender.

2. If they just leave the box on your doorstep, DO NOT OPEN the box. Instead, take it to the delivery company and inform them that you are refusing it. If they will not send it back, pay the return shipping rate and be done with it.

3. If you have given these people any information, like bank account # or credit card #, inform all your bank and credit card companies immediately. Explain you believe that you are a victim of fraud and ask what can be done. Be sure to regularly check that your credit rating is still good.
