kujigafy- i am not suggesting that we sit and watch idle. that was quite a jump, my man. i was simply pointing out that we r placing our hopes and dreams in a corrupt and failing system.
paraphrasing einstien- stupidity is doing something the same way over and over expecting a different result.

cantcu- u highlighted my point perfectly. u say in the same post that g.w. did not win the popular vote. then amazingly, u turn around and say that our hope lies in our vote.
huh!?
this is clear orwellian double speak.

A dictator I assume would be better in your eyes?
I am beginning to think that most presidential races can be fixed, and it is plain that Bush LOST the popular vote.
Hopefully we can get corporations off of welfare and out of OUR representatives pockets. Corporations don't vote, people do!
I see a turn around as it is plain as day that the main issue in this country is the Republican party, which has almost destroyed this country in a few short years! That is going to change soon!

your right, screw all of these world issues and pressing problems in need of solutions. Idol's on. im voting sanjaya.
i didnt mean to suggest that you were; but apathy is very much on the rise in this country and thats never a good thing.
i talk to a lot of people who see these endless election cycles (a 2 yr presidential campaign is absurd); and people who constantly change their minds (on both sides - and your 100% right about the dems being as culpable for this war as republicans for voting for the AUMF) - and they do seem to want to throw up their hands and say screw it all, im going to live my life.
well thats great in the wealthiest nation on earth - but africans who are fighting for life dont get the choice of not worrying about anything if you know what i mean.
all im saying is we as americans have a responsibilty to care about world issues; irregardless of whether we feel disenfranchised by our system from time to time.
i say, do what you can to make the system work.

The electoral college?
Or the Democratic process?
And the question is: "why do most people believe...(in the process itself)...."?
Well gosh, they believe in it because it happens, and that`s how this Democracy is set up!-even though we might have to get a little more involved in it to make it work correctly-

If you are unhappy with your selections to represent you then run your self. Get involved. Its easy to quit and accept defeat, just ask Harry Reid. But that's not the answer. The answer is stand on what you believe and advance it.

Hey don't blame me, I certainly didn't vote for any democrat. They are doing what they said they were going to do. The problem is the Democrat voters were so focuses on made up scandals that they didn't bother to listen to those running. I listened and they have yet to surprise me one iota.

No other choice. There has been no viable third party on a national level. If you wish to change that, I will gladly support you.
