I don't have kids but I was 2 when I figured out that Santa wasn't real. It had to do with visiting 2 different malls in one day and seeing Santa at both. I asked my mom if he was fake and she told me yes. I'm glad my parents didn't try to placate me by saying that those were "Santa's helpers" or Santa's cousin or anything like that.

my daughter just turned 9 and she says she does but I think she knows better but likes the preasents and money from the tooth fairy etc.
