actually has nothing to do with the game, happened in a game i played on saturday...the guy shot the ball landed after which i made contact and it was called a shooting foul...but i thought i once saw it called a regular foul since it was not in the act of shooting...i dont care about the nba much...more of a college hoops fan

If the defender jumps towards the shooter and makes him alter his shot and ends up landing on him after the shooter's feet have landed that is still considered an "act of shooting" foul.

Yes, if the official rules that you were in the "act of shooting".
This really is a judgement call on the part of the referee.
