I too saw the show and liked it. It was interesting, but keep in mind the history behind this, there was a mass murder of Mormon men so plural marriages kept the faith and population up. I think there would be some advantages to living in a relationship if you liked the other wives and you felt like you could handle the sharing of sex and intimacy. Many people marry 2-3 times in their lives and have more than one relationship at a time.
I think you have to say some Mormons believe in this lifestyle. My two closest friends are Mormon and they are the only wife and they are deeply involved in their church.
Could a woman share her husband and still find happiness with him. I don't know, people can put up with things and still resent them inside. I think you would have to be secure, like the other women, and have enough resources for all of the wives.

I think you are the one who is ignorant! Personally I believe that the Mormon religion was created by an incredibly perverted man who figured a way to create a cult where he can imprison the minds of men and women, marry and rape young women and brain wash these individuals for his own sick pleasures. There is a reason why it has been done for years (in the closet) and never been legalized... because it is wrong! God intended and states in the bible that marriage is a holy union between a man and a women before God. Not man and three women (an asian, italian and whatever you sicko... and by the way I feel sorry for the woman who ends up with you!) I think it's terrible that there are individuals out there making young girls think that they are disobeying the Lord and their family by not marrying at the age of 12 and giving birth to children of her step father or whomever. I will say a special prayer for you tonight Mr. Mormon that God with forgive you and your ways and help you see that there are much more important things in life than collecting wives and see that serving him that way he intended is the way to have peace, my brother :)

Please remember that the "Mormon" church does not practice polygamy. The practice was discontinued in 1890, and anyone who does it is excommunicated from membership in the faith. Polygamy is still practiced by fundamentalist Mormons and others who have no associaton to the church whatsoever. Members of the faith still deal with this confusion constantly, however, and it is tiresome.
As to your question, have as many women in your life as you please, but don't call it "marriage." Marriage is a holy state that, as of now, is between one man and one woman, ordained and consecrated by God. Everything else is fornication and adultery. If God ever decides to restore polygamy, we'll worry about it then.
Also, "Big Love" is an ugly and inaccurate caricature that is confused with the modern LDS faith and questions like yours only perpetuate it.

Probably not. I like to be in monogomous relationships. I would not be happy with a man who had affection for more than one woman. The problem with letting men marry more than one woman is that at the same time, youll have to allow women to marry more than one man. I might be okay with having two or three husbands. haha, but how would you feel if i was with you, the guy down the street, and that other one?

Ok, I realize that this is a joke... but I will answer seriously.
If my boyfriend and I found someone that we could both love, then it would be ok. There isn't anything wrong with that.
If I was as compatible with the other girl as I am with him, and vice versa, then that would be just fine. We would just have to have three equal relationships going, and I don't think that is impossible.
I wouldn't mind sharing him with her, as long as I was also sharing her with him.
However, I said "if" a lot. If that could work, I would be fine with it... but it could easily become an exclusionary situation.

I hate to inform you that reality is different than fantasy. More than one wife= a whole lot MORE hormones, pms... and all kinda other issues... and woman can get very vicious LOL. I haven't seen ONE show where the woman in these situations TRULY didn't have some issues around the twisted lifestyle. If they didn't admit it then, they LEFT and it came out later.
There's allot more to it than we ever know until we are involved ourselves.
MOst fellas complain about 1 "naggin" wife now compound that my a few more.... give your head a shake! LOLOL
Heck NO.

If by polygamy, you mean having more than 1 wife to help me with the house and then they can go to their own homes at night, I'm all for it.
How do you feel about a woman having more than one husband?

As a monogamous male, I have to say it's tough enough having one wife. I don't think I could handle any more. Fortunately, I found the closest thing to feminine perfection there is, so I'm quite content.
