this happened one year ago. I was outside going to work. I always had a grudge against this common homeless man every time I saw him in my previously nice jacket. So one night, he asked for change, I was so suddenly mad I attacked him and claimed robbery. I said to him in a low voice "Would you like to change now." It was all anger. I called the cops on him, washed my jacket at home, and told everyone I bought a new jacket. I learned the man was severely beaten in jail for taking one's jacket while sleep. Too bad. Stealing never pays. I did nothing wrong. Just self defense. answer please.

You told this same sorry story a few weeks ago using another name. You need help from a psychiatrist.

I would say that he needed the jacket much more than you did.
Like you said "I was outside going to work". I take that to mean that you have a job, and a source of income and a home to sleep in. I am sure that this person did not know that he was "stealing" your jacket,.
You are the one who was careless enough to lose it in the wind.
I have a hard time believing that too. Next , did you write your name inside your jacket to identify it? I must assume that you had it custom made, and that no one else in your area had one even close to the same jacket that you had.
Why in the world would you want it back after a homeless person had been using it?
You should have bought a new jacket like you told everyone you did.
Then thanked God, that you are more fortunate than this person.
Please pray that you never fall victim to the kind of mental disease these people suffer from. You may get a taste of your own medicine. It may teach you some compassion for those less fortunate.

First of all I have my doubts as to whether this really happened. Second, if it did happen, who are you trying to convince that you did the right thing, we the Yahoo public or yourself? If you felt you needed to call the police on this person because he took your jacket then why didn't you do it when the incident happened instead of waiting a year. Sir, it was not a case of self defense it was a case of self righteous revenge at the expense of the safety of a homeless person who could very possibly have had a mental illness and not been responsible for his actions.
Here's what I think. I think you should be ashamed of yourself for causing that man to be in jail, to be beaten up and for being so selfish that you stewed and brewed over your stolen jacket for a whole year before you did anything about and then caused a stranger to suffer physically and mentally because of it.
The bible says that if a man asks you for your jacket you should give it to him and give him your coat too. Be generous, give of yourself. All good things will come back to you.
Here's a little bit of advice; go visit your mother and let her give you a little reality check on how to treat other human beings.
Have you hear of the Golden Rule: Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated. Those are words of Jesus. Think about them...ask the Lord to forgive you. Go buy a new coat and give it to that homeless man and ask him to forgive you.
I'm still not certain this incident really happened or if you just like to get people up in arms about stuff and if that's the case then you have way too much time on your hands. Go to church.

You mustn't judge others because of what they don't have. At least, you should have been a bit nicer at first. If he refused, then you could take things to another level. I mean, you said you lost it in the wind, so it's not necessarily his fault. Homeless people can't necessarily help it: in their minds, if it's there, it's available. I truly believe that attacking him all of a sudden wasn't right at all. Just suck it up, be careful next time, and buy another jacket, or something. It's hard to be compassionate, but we all need to be.
Possibly, you could apologize by sending in an appeal for him or something.
Not to impede, of course. Just a thought.

Well the man was homeless and has not much to his name. Now if you have money to buy a new one why not just do it. I .am certain that he needs it more than you do, Although what he did was wrong, you could have let him have it, OR MAYBE HE JUST HAS A JACKET FETISH
