i hav a t-mobile account and i m gonne buy a new phone. what should i do with the old one?

i hav a t-mobile moto razr. it is 1yr old. i am upgrading my plan and my phone. what should or what can i do with the old one. can i turn it in to the dealer and will he pay it back or it is garbage. i knw it is a silly Q but i dont knw wat too do?

Normally people would ebay it if they want to cash in on it. A dealer won't buy it back. If you are feeling a little altruistic, you can donate it to charity such as the link below where your phone could be use for different purposes. Since it's a gsm phone (sim card), you can sell it to friends who has tmobile. If you want to sell it to those who have cingular, then you should have your phone unlocked which usually costs money. A free way to do this is to call Tmobile customer service and tell them that you are traveling abroad and would want your phone unlocked. Try it. I heard they would do it.

I highly recommend you ALWAYS keep a spare phone in case your primary phone goes bad.

Often times, your phone will have to be "sent out", or if your phone is really damaged, they'll make you wait for the new one to arrive - usually 3-5 days later. Most carriers will replace your phone, but not with a new one, they'll order a refurbished phone from their headquarters.

If that happens, have them activate your old phone in the meantime, so you don't lose 3-5 days of your phone usage.

I recommend that you drain the battery and put your old phone in a safe place. That way, if you need it, charge it, and it will likely work just as good as it does now.

I have a spare, and I've used it twice waiting for my other phone to be replaced.. And it's was worth it every time!

the phone company wont take it back, so you are better off selling the phone. via e-bay or t-mobile, what they do is they take old phones and re-work them in a sense so that they can sell them to those who cant afford a NEW razor.they will sell yours at a cheaper price.

see if a friend wants to buy it off of you or when u get a new cell phone usally they come with a recyling bag now that u can send your phone in the bag and it goes sumwhere? or jus keep it incase of a emeergcy or if sumthing happens to your new one..

if you give it to a direct TMOBILE store they will just donate it to charity, however if you live by a outlet mall, and thers a cart or little station that sells TMOBILE stuff but is not only a TMOBILE they will buy it from you.

i would keep it, cuz if ur new cell somehow breaks, u wont be able to buy a new one, so u can use that.
