i have a friend that has raised bearded dragons and he said it would be fine, because his had ate bees before. But my dragon is acting very strange since. Like he is in a lot of pain. And he wont eat anything. I tried feeding him some lettuce to help digest but he wont eat anything. Its been 48 hours and he is still alive. Is he past the worst of it. Or is it going to get worse. Will he die?

I doubt he will die but you may want to feed him some wax worms that have been rolled around in vegitable oil it will loosen up his intestine and help speed up the exit of the bee waste. probably not a good idea to feed your beardie bees. he may also not be eating if he got stung in the mouth. use a popsickle stick to get his mouth open and look for swelling.

He will eventually get very sick and die if you don't get him to eat, but he should be able to digest the bees fine. If he is acting in pain call the closest herp vet because they could shed a better light on the subject. Maybe as silly as it sounds yours is allergic. We have a bunch of beardies and all of them react differently to different things so I am guessing anything is possible.

Have you looked at the inside of his mouth?? He could have been stung, or he could be impacted, or the bees could have had contact with some sort of chemical. Any animal that appears to be in a great deal of pain that you don't have an answer for needs to see a vet.
One question....how do you know he ate "a bunch" of bees, unless you sat and watched him do it? After seeing him eating them, why on earth did you not stop him?

No, bearded dragons can't eat meat... I mean think about it. A wild bearded dragon is roaming around in Australia, and... it attacks a chicken? or a cow? No, I don't think so. But, they do eat crickets, mealworms, lettuce, mice and drink water. So, I suggest you don't try that with your bearded dragons.

Probably having a hard time digesting as mentioned. Wild caught insects can pose health problems, as they can be contaminated with insecticides or parasites. One fire fly will kill a bearded dragon. Try some warm water soaks to keep him hydrated, and if not better I wouldn't hesitate to seek medical attention.

It should be ok i have never herd of that befor it should be ok but if not try to go to the vet if you cant it mite of etin to much and got sick becos of the tip of bee it was or mabey the rong cind of bee or a bee was on somthing and gave it to the bearded dragon. plzzzzzzzzz go to the vet.

depending on the bee, but that is a lot of chitin, the exoskeletons of most insects are composed of chitin, and it might be too many bee heads at once to pass through, offer wax worms for a couple of days, they pass easy, let his bowels catch up, he sounds impacted.

If he doesn't recover in the next 24 hours you should take your pet to te vet. Call around and look for a reptile specialist.
