It just blows my mind- he is simply one of the greatest ever. Every aspect of the game, he is superb. I'd take TD in his prime any day over KG or any other F in the last 10-15 years. I think Duncan is in the top 10 all time. This is all coming from a KOBE fan too!

One of the most frequent complaints I've heard around here is that his facial expressions are boring. I guess people who actually understand basketball still appreciate him.

I think that Tim Duncan does get alot of credit, at least with true fans of the sport. I think the main reason that his name may not be mentioned as much as Lebron, Nash, etc is that Duncan is an old school player. He plays back to the basket or in close range. He still uses the bank shot and doesn't shoot 3 pointers. He is what a REAL big man should be.

He doesn't get mentioned because alot of the newer guys are flashier and get on sports center with their dunks, behind the back passes, etc.

NOTE: No Tim Duncan isn't my favorite player. My favorite would actually be Shaq. I just have always liked the classic style centers and power forwards. They are good teammates and make everyone around them better. Let the other players get the "credit", Duncan will keep getting the championships.

Because the people who call Kobe and LeBron great players, only think that to be a good player is someone who can dunk good and show off alot. Those players are good, but they do not play the game as well as other can. The people who are on the news interviewing theses players only interview the players because of there showoff attitude, to anyone who watches and actually understands the game should know that the truely good players are ones who have a good vision of the court, understand and play the game smartly along with their talents, I believe tim duncan is truely one of the greats.

tim duncan is a quiet guy in a small market. he's not a flashy player and he doesnt do anything amazing, he just steadily piles up number, rings, and finals mvps. he's really the best player since jordan, not kobe or lebron and this is comming from a lebron fan

Duncan is in the top 5 but he never gets any recognition because he plays fundamental basketball you know shooting it off the backboard no flashy dunks he's good but he is boring

He's quiet.... and not a show off......people tend to lean more towards flashy people that like to be in the spotlight.
