About 20 minutes ago, I hurt my toe reaaally badly.
I slipped on the floor and stubbed it right into a wall.
It is now black and blue and swollen. It also feels numb. It's burning really badly, still.
Is it broken?!!
I didn't hear any pop or anything but that sound may have been covered by my loud scream..

If its broken the only thing you can do is tape it to the next toe. Tear athletic tape in halp and put one strip on top of the joint and the other below the joint. Also ice it 20 minutes on and 10 minutes off. That is all you can do for a broken toe. Practice R.I.C.E
Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation

Hope your toe is well soon.

I'd say it's probably broken; the bruising would certainly make me suspicious. Unless you think it's somehow crushed (not likely, from the injury you describe), an ER probably isn't going to do much more than "buddy-tape" it to the second toe and put you in a hard-soled shoe that you can get at the drugstore. If you're in a LOT of pain, you can still go of course, and they should be able to give you something to take the edge off for a couple of days.

The only way to tell if your toe is broken to get a x-ray. Please go see your nearest podiatrist for an evaluation. Seemingly that it is black and blue, it's more likely that it's broken, but like I said before, the x-ray will tell all. If it is broken and not displaced, then the doctor will teach you to buddy splint your injured toe to the adjacent toe and put you in a small fracture shoe. In about 3-4 weeks your toe will feel alot better and you'll be back into normal shoes. If it is displaced, it may need to be reduced to get the toe into it's normal position. Hope this helps and good luck!

Could be broken. Can you walk cuz if you broke it you might not be able to walk. You cant really do anything for a broken toe maybe just put some med tape around it. Sounds like it hurts. Put some ice on it if you can to help the swelling to go down. Good Luck

I have done that too except I stubbed mine with flip flops on into a couch and I broke my pinky toe. Thier was a piece of bone actually chipped off. It hurt alot.

Just buddy tape your toe to the toe right by it. Theirs not much dr's can do for a broken toe.

Ouch! It's probably broken. If it's not skewed to one side, take surgical tape and tape it to a neighboring toe. And put ice on it. Don't go to a doctor, they'll do and tell you the same thing.

I broke my pinkie toe and did the above, and after several weeks it was fine.

you seriously may have broken it, but the only thing you can do for it is to take some adhesive tape (like medical tape from a first aid kit) and tape it to the toe that is in good condition next to it; this will help splint it so that it may heal over time. take some tylenol/advil to help with the pain!

my dad is an ER doctor and that's what he's done for me in the past and he says that's all you can do

aaarrgghhh, i did the same thing last week. does it look displaced? Meaning, does it still line up like it used to, not pointing off in another direction? Which toe? And yeah, it quite possibly is broken, unfortunately, they dont do much for broken toes. Ice helps, elevation, and Ibuprofen too.

lol i did almost the same exact thing XD
i did RICE w/o the C as soon as i did it, it may sound goofy but it helps a lil:
R: rest, dont walk on it rite after and try keepin ne pressure off it
I: ice, put ice on it duhh lol
E: elevate, put ur foot up on a couple pillows or sumthin that way the blood wont rush to it as quik and the swelling wont b as bad

oh and sory to say but theres nuthin u can do bout a broken toe but tape it to the one next to it and wait fer it to heal. hope this helps. good luck lol
