selfishness, lack of commitment to the relationship. Marriage is a change of life, and from the wedding on, the partners can't go on each living their own life - either they'll drift gradually into a cold gray non-existence, or erupt into a major confrontation. The confrontation usually comes when one is more committed than the other to making the marriage work.
But, truth is, if you want to stay single, don't get married.

I would have to say communication, boredom, changing into different people over time, lack of attention, financial trouble, sometimes kids, lack of time or effort, not being honest, sometimes you can live in the same house but be miles apart, selfishness. There is no one reason, oftentimes it is a combination of many things.

pride- not being able to back down whether you are right or wrong. if couples would try not to be so stubborn while having disagreements and stop trying to win every discussion there would be less divorce.
