While true or not, it seems to give a person or group of persons to be angry because they are categorized, not by what they are doing - for example eating watermelon and chicken, but because of the grouping as a race. It tends to remove their individuality and I have found most do not like that. Even your question has that form - do you have to be Caucasian to think blacks like that stuff? I feel it is harmless if we can all let go and just laugh at ourselves, but it takes a certain amount of maturity and open mindness to see how others see you, or the race you belong to. But this can lead to interesting conversations... do Koreans have the same stereotypes (in general) about Chinese that Caucasians have about Chinese? They all know Kung-fu right? Or even location - rednecks in the south? Seriously, no offense intended.

He's a French Canadian and dresses like every French Canadian I've ever seen in any cartoon: plaid flannel and a a knit cap. He's a chef (French stereotype). He loves hockey (Canadian stereotype).

I'm a fairly average WASP. I'm educated, I dress preppy, I am computer savvy, I'm not fond of hip-hop, and I like using big words.

I'm half East Indian and half Black. I don't think there are any stereotypes about me. :D
I do have a big booty, and I do eat curry (and if you know anything about curry, the smell does cling to you).
