"pinch runner" would not count.

If you were in the middle of a consecutive games played streak and you pinch ran for a player and did nothing else according to baseball rules you are not considered to have entered the game.

To be in the game you either have to have one time at the plate or played one out in the field.

Hit, walk, error, fielders choice, catcher's inteference/obstruction, dropped 3d strike
(only with 1st base open or with 2 outs with or without a man on 1st). That makes 5 different ways. To say that a single, double and triple are 3 different ways makes no sense, they are all hits, and why then don't you include a home run. And an intentional walk and a walk while scored differently are one in the same also.

This question was asked only a couple of hours ago! And it's been asked a zillion times. There are archives you should check before asking a question.

The answer is:

(1) Base hit
(2) Base on balls
(3) Error
(4) Hit batsman
(5) Fielder's choice
(6) Interference
(7) Obstruction
(8) Wild pitch (uncaught third strike)
(9) Passed ball (uncaught third strike)

For the smart-butts, add "pinch-runner."

All previous answers are good but to be a little picky you cannot reach base on a balk (this will only advance base runners and has no effect to the batter. An illegal pitch can result in a forth ball) as one answer suggested and there can be two different types of dropped third strike(Wild Pitch and Passed Ball). Also for official scoring purposes an intentional walk and base on balls are two separate things.

single, double, triple, home run, intentional walk, base on balls, hit by pitch, dropped third strike(X2), pinch run, error, fielder's choice, catcher interference

All of the answers are good but Ive noticed they are all missing a couple....aside from....

single, double, triple, home run, intentional walk, base on balls, hit by pitch, dropped third strike wild pitch, dropped third strike pass ball, pinch run, error, fielder's choice, and catcher interference.

A player can also get on base if the ball he hits hits a base runner. The runner is out and the ball is dead and the batter is awarded first base. He can also reach base if there is fielders interference. For example the batter hits a ground ball to first base and is running to first, the pitcher is also running to first but at the last second sees his first baseman can make the play by himself and turns away from the play and collides with the runner, it is interference and the batter is awarded first base.

So there are 15 ways to get on base.

There are various ways for a baseball player to get on base. He can get a hit. He can get hit by a pitch. He can get a walk, and he could get a balk. I think those are the ways a baseball player can get on base.

there are a lot of ways- he can be hit by a pitch, he can get a walk, or a "base on balls", or he can get a hit. he can get on with a single double or triple. he can also get on if the catcher drops the third strike and fails to either tag the runner out or throw to first in time. i have only seen this happen once. also a fielders choice, which is where the fielder may throw to second or third to get a different base runner. he can also sub for an injured player.

there are 4 ways to get on base
you can hit the ball (when the ball is struck by the bat into the field) ,
you can get walked (where the pitcher pitches 4 balls in a count),
you can get on base by drop 3rd strike (when you get called for strike 3 and the catcher misses it and you make it to first base before the catcher throws it to 1st),
and you can get hit by a pitch (where the ball hits you some where on the body).

Hit (single, double, triple)
Error
Fielder's choice
Base on balls (Walk)
Hit by pitch
Dropped third strike
Catcher's interference

A player can also pinch run for someone on base
