If he is found guilty, I think that the very least he should be disbarred and never, ever, ever practise any kind of law ever again anywhere.

But if he really is guilty of knowingly withholding evidence and knowingly falsely accusing people of a horrible crime, then he should be held criminally liable and should go to jail.

He will be disbarred and kicked out of office. He may at that point become personally liable to the victims of his wrongful prosecution

Nifong should to be disbarred....he was determined to convict innocent people and knew they were innocent when the DNA test result came in...he withheld this information and continued to try and railroad these boys..... I don't know if there is laws in place against this kind of practice..if there isn't..there should be....he needs some time behind bars....even if he doesn't get charged with a crime..the parents of these kids will probably sue him for everything he has and than some....which I think is justified given what he tried to do to their children........

I also think ...all the other cases he was involved with needs to be looked at...the fact that he thought he could get away with it this time..probably means he has done it in the past to others.....it is hard to tell how many poor smucks is setting behind bars, who didn't have rich families to help them ,that this man may have railroaded........

I understand that right now he is being evaluated to see whether he should be disbarred for unethical conduct.
I rather think that if he knowingly tried to convict people whom he knew to be not guilty of the crime, he should serve the same prison time that they would have served if convicted. I don't think it will happen though.

I believe that if he is indeed found guilty that he very well can and will be disbarred. If he acted unethically, then I say he should be.
