This happened to my daughter and we had to go to the doc, he had to numb her ear and basically just rip it out. Was not pleasant!

Yes, what you're experiencing is called an "embedded earring". It can be caused by different things, like a too-tight a backing, or perhaps an untreated infection, so the earlobe becomes inflamed and the skin eventually grew around the backing.
You really need see your doctor to remove the earring. Soon! Antibiotics may be necessary to avoid spreading of any infection you might have. If it's not too severely embedded, your doctor may be able to remove it easily after numbing your ear. If it's more serious, a small incision may be required. Either way, again, you really need to see your doctor to remove it, sooner rather than later.
Best wishes to you.

This happened to my little girl. We had to soak it off with peroxide. Yes it does hurt like hell. try numbing it with an ice cube. It took a while but after continous soak it finally released. We had to pull real slowly. Skin tissue came off at the same time and we then put antibiotic creme and peroxide on it. We no longer use the butterfly style backs on her earrings as they don't have the locks on the backs. Once you get to messing with it, it may swell. You may need to see a doctor. Best of luck.

you DEFINITELY need to go to the doctor or emergency room to get it taken out...my classmate had that happen to her, and it actually caused an open sore on her ear than was open for about 2-3 weeks because she didn't want to go get it taken out. After a while, since there was an open wound on her body that wasn't healing, she started to smell (like roadkill thats been sitting out in the hot sun, you know that smell?) I guess she smelled like that since the wound was healing but she had to get it surgically removed because it was embedded so I suggest you get it taken care of before it gets that bad...

You should go and see your docter. Or You could try getting some numbing cream from the chemist and then try pulling it out.
The docter will inject a numbing agent into your earlobe and pull or cut it out. I would try pulling it out at home first and then go to the docter to get some antibiotics so it doesn't get infected.

What happened to the ear back? Is it inside your earlobe too? You should probably go to the doctor.

yes-i had it happen to both ears-and i had to have them removed in the emergency room--d/t the infection that was present-the nerve would not absorb the novocaine-so-when the doctor cut the earlobe-and pulled the back out of my ear-needless to say-it was very painful! but-the pain was shortlived-and it was a relief to have them removed!

I've had my fair share of piercings and I've never had anything like that happen to me.
I have heard of that happening, however, and suggest you get a doctor to remove it just in case. It could get infected so keep it clean and don't touch it until then.
