I have always wondered what it would be like to go to one. I think it would be interesting.

I go to auctions and prefer the antiques auctions, get some great things at an even better price. Just make sure your bidding on something that you really want. Set your price in your mind before the bidding starts and stick to it.
You really should try in sometime they are lots of fun.

Yep, all the time, bought THIS house at one. Saved myself about 60K.
They're fun, although if you have a "competitive" personality, it can be dangerous....sometimes you end up buying stuff, just cuz you want to win...
Did I mention, i didn't really NEED this house? :) LOL
Personal property and/or content auctions are a GREAT way to buy furniture, lawn care equip, antiques, all kinds of stuff. Heck, I've bought unopened TP at auction. Like 60 rolls for $1!!!

I've been to a lot of auctions over the past few years in small towns. You can get ripped off if you don't know what's going on.

Yeah...I go to Cattle Auctions all the time.
and a farm equipment auction when it comes to town

I have been to them several times and you have got to make a firm decision what you want to pay and have a fair idea of what you want.
It is not for fun, it is your hard earned cash you are spending so unless you have oodles of it, they are your $'s

Many, many years ago my then husband and I went to one. We bid on little things. It was fun but you sure can get carried away!
