I want to stick transparent acrylic balls that have a hole through the middle on to a metal wire. I tried clear super glue but it makes a horrible smudge

To help keep messy to a minimum, use a cotton swab to paint on the glue, or cut a sponge into a small applicator. In a pinch, I have twisted a paper towel into a small "stick" to use.

You can use any type of acrylic glue. Just read the label of the glue container to find out what kind works best.
